So far this off-season there as
been some free agents signed to new teams. Yoenis Cespedes was a hot free agent
out there that had signed back with the Mets for 3 years $75 million dollar
contract. It was a good move for the Mets since he was a big key to the team.
With Starlin Castro moving to the Yankees the Cubs have signed Short Stop (SS)
Munenori Kawasaki to the ball club. Alexiei Ramirez, a long time White Sox
found a new home in San Diego with a 1 year contract with them. Another free
agent signing from the Detroit Tigers is OF Justin Upton. Will see if that helps them
improve from the past years being an under .500 ball club. The Arizona
Diamondbacks picked up a strong Starting Pitcher (SP) from the Dodgers, Zack
Greinke for 6 years at $206 million. This should help get Arizona back into
contention soon. Miami Marlins made a smart decision for extending Dee Gordon
for 5 years $50 million. Alex Gordon was a big free agent out there wondering
if he was going to a new team. Gordon (OF) has resigned with the Royals to
hopefully defend their title this season. There is still a lot of free agents out there
still needing to be signed and in 23 days all pitchers and catchers meet up.
Spring training is right around the corner which means baseball season can’t
come soon enough. Let’s see if these players can help their franchise win them
a title this year and to stop the red hot Royals and having two great records
and reaching the World Series back to back years.
